This is 1/100th scale metric of Canadas latest frigate. There is a ship named for each capital of each province. Again this model is entirely constructed from polystyrene plastic card. It measures about 52 inches in length. Pictures are no doubt an absolute necessity when it comes to adding detail. A tour of the actual ship presented the opportunity to take pictures of the exterior showing much of the needed detail. As a model of a 1/100 scale Sea King was unavailable it was also scratchbuilt . I used a 1/72 model and with some drawings I was able to locate, reduced the drawings to 1/100. The fuselage is basically carved with detail added to it. The radar, Phalanx gun and stanchions were also all scratchbuilt from plastic card and plastic rod. |
